The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the notification for the supplementary examination for both classes 10 and 12. CBSE has started the registration process from today (May 31). Only students whose names are submitted through the online process can appear for the CBSE Supplementary Exam 2024.

It is the responsibility of the schools to contact students who have to appear for the CBSE supplementary examination, the board said. The CBSE supplementary exam for both classes 10 and 12 will begin from July 15.

As per the schedule released today, for class 12, the supplementary exam for all subjects will be held on one day i.e. July 15, while the board will announce the date list for the class 10 supplementary exam.

Again, it is important for the schools to inform that candidates who are declared passed in Class 10 can improve their performance in the two subjects, while for Class 12 it is only one subject. There are maximum three chances for a student to pass an exam if placed in the compartment category of the exam.

There are 80 subjects in class 12 where students can apply for a supplementary exam, while for class 10 there are 32 subjects.

Festive offer

For the CBSE supplementary exam, students in India have to pay a fee of Rs 300 per subject, while for late registrations, students have to pay a fine of Rs 2,000 in addition to the prescribed fee. Students in Nepal have to pay Rs 1000 per subject, but for foreign students studying in CBSE affiliated schools, the additional examination fee is Rs 2000 per subject. Visually impaired students are exempt from exam fees.

Payment of exam fee for Indian students can be made through credit card, debit card, NEFT and RTGS while for foreign students they have to pay through debit card, credit card and SWIFT.

Requests to extend the date for any reason will not be processed. The dates for downloading the admit card will be announced separately by the CBSE. In case of any discrepancy in the admit card, schools should contact the concerned regional office of the board.

A consolidated mark sheet will be issued only to students whose results have been declared as ‘compartment’ in the 2024 board examination.
