The last time Fermanagh won the Lory Meagher Cup it was Lisbellaw man John Duffy who lifted the trophy. The memories of that day are ‘special’, according to the 32-year-old;

“It’s something very special. Stepping them up and lifting the trophy.

“It is a very special day and a very special event. It will always be a memory of mine and a fond memory of Fermanagh hurling.

Duffy and his teammates are one game away from repeating the feat of three years ago, but the experienced Duffy knows this won’t be easy, as evidenced less than a fortnight ago when Fermanagh clawed their way back to a to earn a draw in the fifth round. game with Longford;

“We have a big task ahead of us, Longford are a very good team,” said Duffy.

“We’ve never had anything easy from a Longford team. They’re set up well and to be honest we were lucky to get a result on the last day I would say.
