A London bus crashes into a house, another crashes into a bus stop and a third bursts into flames on the same day

Two London buses crashed, one into a house and the other into a bus stop, and another caught fire yesterday (Saturday, May 18). Passengers were forced to flee one of the city’s iconic red vehicles just before it burst into flames on a busy road in Twickenham.

Thirty firefighters battled a fire after the single-decker diesel bus caught fire. The incident happened while he was driving along Richmond Road. Smoke came out and the bus stopped.

All passengers and the driver got out of the vehicle. It is believed no one was injured.

A video has been posted of the aftermath of bus accidents

Images have also emerged online of a bus that appears to have crashed into a bus stop. The E5 service was for Perivale Tesco at the time of the incident.

A video posted yesterday shows broken glass and a police cordon. The left front of the bus appears to have collided with the stop, which is crumpled.

MyLondon has learned that the reported accident took place in South Road, Southall.

Another video appears to show a bus after it ‘plowed into a house’ in East Ham. The Daily Mail reports this was in Claughton Road. A police cordon can be seen.

There is at least one patrol car parked on the street, with a fire truck also present.

A police spokesperson said: “At around 5pm on Saturday, May 18, emergency services were called to a bus which had collided with a house in Claughton Road, E13. Police officers assisted partners, including LFB, in responding to the incident.

“No injuries reported. No arrest.”
