Every spring, the Pottawatomie Garden Club meets in downtown St. Charles to plant summer flowers along the bridges over the Fox River and around the municipal building.

This year, on May 22, the garden club planted a series of beautiful annuals for everyone passing through the city center to enjoy.

It is one of the many projects that the garden club is doing to contribute to the beautification of St. Charles.

The garden club also awards scholarships to students from St. Charles Unit District 303, plants memorial trees for its members and maintains natural areas along the Fox River. A garden walk is organized every two years, as well as the popular Garden Gate Boutique and Plant Sale.

The club meets on the fourth Monday of the month from March to October.

The next general monthly meeting will be held on June 24 at 7:00 PM at the St. Charles Public Library, 1 S. Sixth Ave. The program will be “Don’t Squash the Bugs!” with James Rowan.
